Humber River Regional Hospital Update

What is the latest on the Humber River Regional Hospital project?

This project has been moved back by up to one year due to pressures on the construction industry. Building is now likely to begin in 2011-12.

“Friday, November 27th, 2009 marked another important milestone for our hospital’s future when Board Chair Norm Naumoff and President & CEO Rueben Devlin joined many Humber River staff, physicians and volunteers as the local Member of Provincial Parliament, Mr. Monte Kwinter, revealed the Government of Ontario’s Project Sign on the site of our new hospital. Members of our community, the larger redevelopment team and representatives from Infrastructure Ontario were also on hand to witness this exciting event.

Now everyone driving by the MTO Downsview property on Keele Street or on Wilson Avenue can see two large signs announcing the great future that lies ahead for our hospital.

Lean, green and digital, our new home will be Ontario’s first digital hospital, a showcase facility dedicated to providing the best patient care.” http://www.hrrh.on.ca/newmodel/default.asp
