Your Weston Village Residents’ Association has joined with the Mount Dennis Community Association and Greenhills Community Association to launch a campaign to Save 12 Division. We have come up with a lawn sign (see below) that you can display on your lawn. Here is the article in the Guardian if you have not already seen it.
Signs are available for pickup at three locations. In addition, community association volunteers can often arrange to get a sign to your home, or arrange a pickup at other locations.

As some of you may be aware, there is the prospect of a reconfiguration of various Police Divisions around the city and our 12 Division is one that will be impacted. We are waiting to learn who we might be merged with and where our officers will be deployed to work out of. If you recall, the area north of Lawrence but south of the 401 bounded by the Humber and Jane, was previously attached to 31 Division for many years. It took almost 10 years of petitioning to have this area reconfigured to be part of 12 Division which made more sense logistically. And one of the reasons why we wanted to be switched was because of proximity to 12 Division and response times. As well, some felt that because we were so far removed from 31 Division and there was a greater need in the north end for policing, we were somewhat ‘ignored’. The move to 12 Division has been to our benefit and the prospect of losing it is unwelcome. Will Weston Village once again be given short shrift as it had before? How can we be assured that our calls will be attended to in a timely manner with the Station being so far removed? These are questions still unanswered.
